Post-partum recovery through kinesiotherapy in Timișoara
12/05/2026
## Your body after birth
Pregnancy and childbirth bring profound changes — weakened abdomen, overloaded pelvic floor, changed posture, lower back and hip pain. Recovery doesn't happen on its own.
## When can you start post-natal kinesiotherapy
- **Natural birth**: after at least 6 weeks, with doctor's clearance
- **C-section**: after at least 8 weeks, with surgeon's clearance
- There is no "too late" — recovery is beneficial even years after birth
## What the post-natal program includes
### Initial assessment
- Pelvic floor function evaluation
- Diaphragm and breathing coordination testing
- Diastasis recti check (abdominal muscle separation)
### Recovery program
1. **Pelvic floor re-education** — pelvic floor reactivation exercises
2. **Abdominal recovery** — not classic crunches, but deep re-education
3. **Posture correction** — adapted to breastfeeding and baby carrying positions
4. **Return to physical activity** — progressive and safe
## Why kinesiotherapy, not the gym
Classic abdominal exercises can worsen diastasis and pelvic floor issues. Post-natal kinesiotherapy starts from individual assessment and respects tissue healing.
